"In 2018, I made the conscious move to only working with companies that care about the planet and create products or services that are eco-friendly, sustainable and do good. It was important for me to have my values be reflected in who I work with. I started turning down a lot of work with companies doing things that are detrimental to the environment, such as plastic phone case companies or non-ethical fashion businesses. I think it’s really important that we, as designers, use our skills to make the world a better and safer place and do everything we can to preserve this beautiful blue planet".
- Mélanie Johnsson on Lauren Welland's blog, 2018
I am Mélanie Johnsson, a freelance graphic designer, illustrator and letterer from France. I call Margate (a beautiful english seaside town) my home but I am currently living in Cape Town, SA. I design for brands across different fields: luxury, travel, cosmetics, art, fashion...and I also love to work with passionate individuals.
What else? Well, I spend most of my free time painting and listening to podcasts. I like cheese (a lot), red wine, beautiful magazines, art supplies shops, exotic animals, jumping from airplanes and scuba diving, walking around lost islands and waking up early to catch a sunrise.
Need advice or just want to chat? Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll make sure to get back to you as soon as possible!
I have run illustration and brush lettering workshops in London and beyond. I am always looking for opportunities to share my love of colour and shape with everyone I meet, wherever I travel, so if you’re interested in hiring me to run a workshop at your workplace/cafe/house, just drop me an email and I’ll make sure to get back to you asap!
